Inspired by the book "Platero y yo" by Juan Ramon Jimenez, Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco composed 28 pieces originally for guitar and narrator.

The book tells short stories about a man and his donkey Platero (Silver) in the early 20th century in the village of Moguer, Spain.

This is the instrumental version with added sound "snapshots" to enhance the atmosphere of the stories.

This idea was very much appreciated by Diana Castelnuovo Tedesco, the composer's granddaughter who takes care of her granddad's legacy.
